Alora, Empress of Eldveil

Before men raised a wall on Midrath, the Fey walked Alca as her favoured children, and over the Fey stood Alora, Empress of Eldveil. Her moral compass is the one nature keeps: whim. Her power has a single wellspring, and it is song. The community's record holds that her magicks woke the first sprouts into Sproutfolk, and that when she met Queen Finngualla of Midrath, her blessing went into the very walls of Mirifuir — the same fortress the invader garrisons now.

Of Eldveil itself the sources give a garden and a doubt. The official Founders record names Wyld Oscelda "a Fey healer so renowned in the garden of Eldveil"; an Enclave verse remembers a new witch abloom there, roused by rain. Whether Eldveil lies upon the Silvern Sea or in another pocket of existence entirely, no record says. Since the Felling the Fey are gone from Midrath — beyond the veil, the tellers say. Where the sources are silent, this record keeps the gap.

She gave her finest weapons made of her own body. To Tethren, chief of the Solist warriors, a blade forged from her femur: the Ivor. To Oscelda, healer of Eldveil's garden, a staff that was a finger snapped from her hand: the Alder. And for Sirin, born of a moonlight pond, a third was meant — a bow strung taut with her own golden eyelash: the Starling — but Sirin stole it before it could be given, so the community's record tells it. Wyld three, and first of thee, the Founders' own verses name them, first of the Envoys — and at the Felling, as the fields burned, they carried out their betrayal. Her gifts returned, sharp end first.

Why they turned, no source says. What the record holds is her condition after: captivity. The Founders trailer itself closes on her in Ode'n keeping — so the community's wiki reads it — though where, no source names. And in the sap-dream visions of the Waste Bear, a Skytower opens before the Envoy, and there Lord Synod makes Tempest Bayor grovel and demands one prize of him — the Empress. Where the Ode keep her, the record does not know, and it will not guess.

She is not yet met, but she is heard. At the starter cairn in Rise, Envoy, where a new-washed Envoy claims a first Pact, a voice speaks that the community's record takes for hers: "Like your blood. Ancient as your Wyld." The Founders trailer, as the hearth transcribed it, kept a harder line — an address to a Faun, a command to find her and betray her again.

And in the waking world she writes. The official news itself styles its word from her a missive — the latest missive from the Empress — the sovereign of the Fey waging her long war by letter, to Envoys whose kind first turned her own gifts against her.

At TennoCon 2026 the pre-show post billed Jennifer English plainly as voice of The Empress of Eldveil, and at Devstream 16 the Empress made her first in-engine appearance in the reveal of Warsongs, the Fable announced for fall 2026. The press that watched agreed on one thing: she seems to know more of Tempest Bayor than she is letting on. English — Shadowheart of Baldur's Gate 3 — calls the part her dream part: a fairy empress with a Welsh accent. Mark it well, Envoy: this is announced, not yet playable. Preludes 15 holds no meeting with her — only the voice at the cairn and the missives. Fall will tell.

Around the gap, the hearth guesses — and this record names each guess a theory, no more. One reading holds she foresaw the betrayal and permitted it, on the strength of the betray-me-again line. Another holds the Ode wrung their gaunting spellsong from her stolen voice — song being her power, and the enemy's weapon being song bent to command. A third holds that Envoys descend from the Wyld three, and that is why she names them traitor. None of it is attested. All of it waits on Warsongs.
