The Fey
Before mankind raised its first roofbeam the Fey kept Alca's balance; since the Felling they are said to be gone beyond the veil, and their surest trace above it is the blue arm the Envoy wears.
Before Man, the Moonbeam
Before mankind raised its first roofbeam, the Fey walked Alca. The old Histories call them Alca's favoured children, and the calling was earned: the world favoured them first, and they kept the world in balance. Official word says it plainest — Alca is a world that lives and breathes with the spirit of nature and the ancient magicks of the Fey.
The community record, gathered from the game's own Histories, keeps their beginning as a moonlit gift. On the night of the full tappers moon, Alca bid the first Fey gather, and the moonbeam of Iridis — the green moon, the life-bringer — bored a well to the world's centre. From Oro's Well the magick flowed into the first Fey. So the record stands; the official copy has not yet told this tale in its own voice, and the archive marks the difference.
The Wyld Three, First of Thee
Rise, EnvoyThree names survive from the elder days, and the ballad binds them: Wyld three, and first of thee. Tethren, champion and Chief of the Solist Warriors, was gifted The Ivor, a blade forged from the Empress Alora's own femur. Oscelda, the healer-witch, bloomed in the garden of Eldveil and received The Alder — a finger snapped from the Empress's hand. Sirin, the assassin borne of a moonlight pond, was gifted nothing: she stole The Starling, and its string is the Empress's eyelash. Bone, finger, eyelash — the Empress armed her three from her own body, and the record reads them as the First Envoys: an implication the wiki itself flags, never yet stated outright.
Their arms may be worn today. Rise, Envoy — the first Fable played on waking ashore, live in the Preludes 15 build — sets the three Pacts at a cairn as the Envoy's starting choice, and a voice older than the isle says of the arm: like your blood, ancient as your Wyld. The official Founders copy keeps their titles green: Oscelda a Fey healer renowned in Eldveil's garden, Sirin a Fey assassin without peer.
The Felling: When Kindred Drew Staffs
Man and Fey were kindred once. The Witch General Agrona taught Tethren's magicks to human students — until, as the Histories put it, the Fey drew their war staffs. What followed was the Felling: a great and terrible war between man and Fey, so vast the wiki-keepers reckon the calendar itself may begin there, Year 0 of the present count of 926. Its cause is not written. It is said — and the record repeats only that it is said — that Saphene, the blue sun, whispered a word and set the kindred to killing.
In the war's last hours the Wyld three turned. As the Felling Fields burned, they returned the Empress's gifted weapons sharp end first. Then the Fey left Midrath, and what they left behind, mankind lost or burned: the Feybles, the old books of their deeds. The Ode finish that burning now — the Feybles of Othavess went to their fires — for an invader knows a land that forgets its keepers is easier kept.
What the Arm Remembers, What the Mist Keeps
WarsongsThe proof the Fey are not gone entirely is worn on the arm. In Warsongs, the opening Fable, an infant reaches for their mother on the night the Ode fall upon Dendria, and the reaching arm is blue, laced with arcane carvings — the kin-mark of the ancient Fey. Official copy names the player a warrior with a blue Pact Arm infused with magicks of the ancient Fey, and the living Steam copy says it fresh: your blood is that of ancient Fey. The Pacts that arm accepts — essences of the mighty, made with Fey, Omen Beast, Deity, or fellow Envoy — answer no other. One arm runs against the grain: Tempest Bayor's, scarlet where the Envoy's is blue — glimpsed already in playable cutscene, promised in full with the announced fall Fable.
The rest is mist, and the record says so. Where the Fey went, the Histories offer only beyond the veil, to Eldveil — which may lie upon the Silvern Sea or in another pocket of existence entirely; no source settles it. What the Envoys are to them is unsettled too: thrice the game hints an Envoy may lack a soul, and the Wazzard of Wastes sneers of the empty Fey. One veil lifts on a known date: at TennoCon 2026 the official recap named their sovereign at last — Empress Alora, voiced by Jennifer English — and her in-game debut rides with the Warsongs Fable quest: announced for this fall, not yet playable. Until then, the gap stays a gap.
